Papa Nubling

Papa Nubling

Heralded by the New York World Telegram as “a sort of professor without portfolio and an instructor extraordinary,” Frederick “Papa” Nubling served as manger of Columbia’s Dormitories from 1917 to 1934. This page aspires to memorialize him. In assembling the materials collected to research an article that appeared in the March 2013 issue titled “The Bard of Livingston,” we hope that others come recognize the contributions of Nubling to our university community.
